Terms of Service

Who We Are

Lakan Design is the web-design service of Lakan Ventures L.L.C., registered at Sharjah Media City, UAE (Trade Licence 2647457.01) and operating from Dubai, UAE. “We” means Lakan Design; “you” means the business the website is for.

Quotes & Scope

• Every project starts with a written quote, sent on WhatsApp or by email. It lists the pages, the features, the price, the rounds of revisions and the timeline. That quote is the scope of the project.
• Prices on this site are starting points. The quote is the price you pay, and it is valid for 30 days.
• Anything outside the quote — more pages, a new feature, extra rounds — is quoted separately and done only once you have agreed to it in writing.

Payment

• A 50% deposit books the project. Work is scheduled once it is received.
• The balance is due before the site goes live.
• Payment is by bank transfer, in AED. We never ask for card details.
• Until the balance is paid, we may hold the launch and the handover of files.

Revisions

• Each package includes rounds of revisions: Starter one, Business two, Premium three.
• A round is one list of changes, sent together. Changes sent piece by piece count as separate rounds.
• Further rounds are quoted before we do them. A change to the agreed scope is new work, not a revision.

Timelines

• The timeline in your quote starts when we have both the deposit and your content (text, logo, photos).
• Time spent waiting for content or feedback moves the launch date by the same amount.
• If we hear nothing for 30 days, the project is paused. Restarting it may mean a new date.

Content You Provide

• You confirm you own, or have permission to use, every text, logo, photo and video you send us.
• You are responsible for what your site claims — prices, licences, qualifications and offers.
• Where we agree to use stock images or write copy for you, we use material we are licensed to use.

Ownership

• Once the project is paid in full, the design and content of your site are yours, and we hand over the files and accounts.
• We keep the right to reuse our own general tools, code and know-how on other work. Your content and branding are never reused.
• We may show the finished site in our portfolio and on social media. If you would rather we did not, tell us in writing and we will not — before or after launch.

Hosting & Domain

• Your domain is registered in your name wherever the registrar allows it. Renewals are charged at cost, or included in the care plan.
• Hosting runs on third-party providers. We choose reliable ones, but we are not responsible for their outages.
• If you move on, we hand over the domain and the site.

Care Plan

• The care plan is monthly and paid in advance. It covers what is listed under Pricing on our site; anything larger is quoted first.
• Cancel any time by message before your next billing date. The current month is not refunded, and the plan ends at the end of it.
• Without a care plan, changes after launch are quoted job by job.

Cancellations & Refunds

• You may cancel a project at any time, in writing.
• The deposit is refunded in full if you cancel before design work starts. We tell you when it starts.
• Once design work has started, the deposit is not refundable, and work done beyond its value is charged in proportion to what was delivered.
• If we cancel, we refund everything you paid for work we have not delivered.

Limitation of Liability

We build to the agreed scope with reasonable skill and care. To the fullest extent permitted by UAE law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost sales or profit), for outages of third-party services (hosting, WhatsApp, payment providers), or for content you supplied. Our total liability is limited to the fees paid for the project.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, with exclusive jurisdiction of the UAE courts. We may update them; the version on your quote date applies to your project.
